Cannes International Film Festival

The Cannes International Film Festival, is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres from around the world. Founded in 1946, it is one of the most prestigious and publicized film festivals in the world. Leo Mirkine was present since the first edition and was joined in the fifties by Yves.

The Classics

Leo and Yves Mirkine covered half a century of cinema. They photographed more than 150 movie sets, which many are now considered as classics.

Spécial Brigitte Bardot

Leo Mirkine, photographer of the film "And God Created Woman", has a long complicity with Brigitte Bardot because Mirkine were also present on the set of "Manina" from Willy Rozier, "Jewelers Moonlight" by Roger Vadim and the International Film Festival of Cannes.

Retour sur les rencontres "tapis rouge" entre Léo Mirkine, Yves Mirkine et Johnny Hallyday lors des différentes éditions du Festival International du Film de Cannes entre 1956 et 1979.

During the 60's, Leo Mirkine continues his journey as a photographer. Anchored in "Beaux-Arts" graduation of Paris,he works on the female nude thoughout decades. Mastering  light and playing on stage aesthetic, he glorifies the Woman with modesty and delicacy, in his studio of Nice. Black and white prints remain his signature.
